2018 Seniors Raptors

The Raptors Congratulate our Senior Players, Arin Ficker, Jakob Hughes and Niles O'Brien and thank them for what they have done for the program this year and over the last years.

Arin Ficker
Parents: Dan & Kelly
Years Playing Lacrosse: 7
Favorite Lax Memory: Undefeated Season as Youth Senior
Favorite Lax Player: Scott Ratliff
Post High School Plans: Carthage College, actuarial science
Favorite things to do outside of Lacrosse: Listen to Music and Hang with friends
Coaches Comments: Arin has had a dominant defensive season for the Raptors shutting down many opponents. He is a captain of the team and a ground ball vacuum. His dedication and love he has for his teammates makes him one of the most valuable players on the team. Thank you Arin for your continuous selflessness you have for the whole Raptors’ organization.

Jakob Hughes
Parents: Derek & Katie
Years Playing Lacrosse: 7
Favorite Lax Memory: Undefeated Season as Youth Senior
Favorite Lax Player: Rob Pannell
Post High School Plans: Air Force
Favorite things to do outside of Lacrosse: Work out and make music
Coaches Comments: Jakob is one of our workhorses and a captain for the Raptors. His off season training set the standard high for the team and future Raptors. His leadership doesn’t just come in waves, he constantly demands improvement from his peers and will be missed! Thank you Jakob!

Niles O’Brien
Parents: Michael and Patty
Years Playing Lacrosse: 1
Favorite Lax Memory: Starting in first varsity game
Favorite Lax Player: Jacob Hoening
Post High School Plans: Madison Tech, sales
Favorite things to do outside of Lacrosse: Play hockey
Coaches Comments: Niles found his role as a face off specialist middie for the Raptors. Having a strong background in Hockey, he was convinced to give lacrosse a shot this year. He is a prime example that anyone can pick up the game of lacrosse and compete at a high level if you are willing to put in the hours. He is easily one of the most improved players and we are certain that he will take that dedication to be successful wherever he goes. Thanks Niles!

We wish then all the best for their next chapters in life and we hope they come back to the Raptors in the future to help spread their love of the game to the next group of Raptors!

Boy's Hire New High School Coach - Connor Nelson

The Kenosha Raptors are super excited to announce that we have found the coach that we believe will help us take Boys Kenosha LAX to the next level! Connor Nelson is a highly skilled and decorated 2017 graduate from Carthage College and he has agreed to take on his next challenge. He plans to not only grow the Kenosha program, but help our high school players reach their individual and team potential as well. He sees an exciting future for Kenosha LAX!

Connor grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where he started playing lacrosse in the 7th grade. After experiencing the fastest sport on 2 feet he immediately fell in love. Connor played lacrosse all 4 years in high school as well as a couple varsity football seasons, winning an Ohio Division 1 high school football championship. Then, he went on to pursue lacrosse at Carthage all 4 years while obtaining a degree in business marketing. There, Connor had a successful career achieving many individual and team accomplishments. Connor states "After graduating, I realized that I needed to be involved in the sport that gave me such great experiences and opened many doors for me. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, especially the Midwest. I want to bring a new paradigm to Kenosha high school men's lacrosse."

Accomplishments:
Named Brine All Ohio Team (High School) 2013
Named First Team All-Midwest Lacrosse Conference 2014
Named First Team All-CCIW Conference 2015, 16, 17
IMLCA All-Region Honorable Mention 2016
Led to Carthage College's’ 1st, 2nd, & 3rd CCIW Championships 2015, 16, 17
Led to Carthage College's’ 1st, 2nd, & 3rd NCAA Appearances 2015, 16, 17
Carthage College Men’s Lacrosse Team Captain 2016, 17

Connor will not only be in charge of the high school program, but has said that he intends to help out with the youth teams as time allows. We look forward to having Connor and some other Carthage players helping all our boys this winter at our indoor sessions.
